(Proof of validity of the Dynamic Steady State Universe)

Abstract: It is first shown that the Expanding universe model rests primarily on one pillar; then its grave weakness is revealed. It is argued that since this lone pillar is founded on an incomplete explanation of the cosmic redshift, the superstructure it supports becomes unsustainable, the cosmology model it underpins cannot be a representation of the real Universe. The recently developed cosmic redshift mechanism, based on a non-mass, non-energy, space medium (which serves as the luminiferous and gravitational substrate), is presented. It is a surprisingly elementary interpretation of cosmic redshift —one that was oddly overlooked in the history of modern astrophysics. According to the new interpretation, called the velocity differential redshift, wavelength elongation (and wave train elongation) can occur in both expanding and contracting portions of the universe. The immediate implication is that the radical extrapolation that leads standard cosmology to an expanding universe is avoided. In the course of the discussion a profoundly compelling cosmology unfolds. The model’s predicted cellular structure is compared to observed cosmic scale structure, revealing a remarkable agreement and thus resolving some of the most intractable anomalies in modern cosmology/astrophysics.

The standard model of cosmology is based on General Relativity, a theory which is internally self-consistent and has passed all available experimental tests. Naturally, it could still be wrong. However, we are not interested in exploring alternative theories unless they do equally well, i.e. present an internally consistent field theory of gravity which is consistent with the evidence. Only at that point would it be worth examining the cosmological implications of the alternative theory.

I should add that the presentation of alternative approach to gravity and the structure of space-time would be more appropriately submitted to a journal specializing in these topics, or a general physics journal.

Thank you for the prompt decision and response.

Surely, as the editor of an astrophysics journal, you must be aware that General Relativity is not a complete theory —you cannot possibly not know this! Einstein himself expressed grave doubts. You and I both know there is a crisis in Physics.

The “alternate theory” being used in the paper is, as a publishing criterion you specified, “an internally consistent field theory of gravity [albeit based on aether] which is consistent with the evidence.” Yet amazingly, you, as the editor of a leading astronomy and cosmology journal, would not be interested in disseminating awareness of a remarkable problem-free cosmology. Your hasty, evasive, and illogical rejection of a paper presenting a powerful argument speaks volumes about the precariousness of the model you and your journal strive to defend. Ironically, you have confirmed one of the points presented in the Paper —the dogmatic defensive strategy used by Big-Bang believers. Only conforming explanations of evidence are permitted; non-conforming ones are ignored.

Some defenders go further. They choose to ignore facts. You, Dr. Vishniac, have overlooked the fact that the standard model of cosmology, or any other alternative theory, does not resolve the anomalies presented in the Paper! You have ignored the most intractable observable mysteries in astronomy! —for which only the DSSU has a clear and compelling explanation. You cavalierly reject a reason-and-reality-based cosmology.

I know, I know; we are all supposed to know, “The Big Bang is not a myth! The Big Bang is not a myth!” So goes the modern mantra; so consoling for the closed indoctrinated mind. Meanwhile, there is something called the 5th-cosmology revolution. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for professionals in this field —handicapped by outdated theories, compelled to join the chanting chorus.

5. Background to Resolving the Structural Mystery

An important category of research for DSSU is “anomalous redshifts.” In the course of searching through a comprehensive compilation on a website devoted to redshift anomalies, I came across a particularly interesting anomaly. In fact, it was clearly the strangest, most inexplicable, anomaly of all those on the very long webpage I was studying. (When printed as a pdf document, the webpage was 230 pages long. It, no doubt, represented a considerable amount of work for its creator/author Ari Jokimäki.) It didn't take long to resolve the mystery behind the anomaly. The best part was, in replicating the anomaly, I learned something about the dodecahedral close-packed structure that I had not recognized before. The cosmic cell nodes are different in more ways than I had previously imagined. Two types of patterns of galaxy clustering could now be easily explained. Furthermore, the new awareness then led me to finally figure out the key elements of the “local” cosmic cell structures.

If there was ever any doubt about the validity of the dodecahedral structure, any uncertainty as to its actuality, then this will dispel them completely. The resolution of the patterns provides the best and most convincing evidence yet for cosmic dodecahedral structure in general and for the configuration of the “local” cosmic cells in particular.

Of equal importance to DSSU cosmology is the recent discovery of the cosmic-redshift mechanism —called the velocity-differential redshift. It is an extraordinarily simple mechanism. It replicates an expansion redshift without the need for an expanding universe! The details are presented in the article “Cosmic Redshift in a Nonexpanding Universe”.

These two “discoveries” are the focus of the present article. The new redshift theory, in conjunction with basic DSSU theory, is used to predict the cosmic structure; and the observable cosmic structure, including the previously inexplicable anomalies, provides the the evidential proof. What is predicted matches what is observed.

These two papers, DSSU Validated by Redshift Theory and Structural Evidence and the “Cosmic Redshift in a Nonexpanding Universe”, may well turn out to be the most pivotal research papers in advancing DSSU cosmology.

The reader will be won over by the naturalness of the theory and the sheer undeniableness of the evidence.

6. Discoverer of Cellular Structural

Anthony Fairall (1943-2008) Influential observer of the southern hemisphere. Eminent scholar of the stars.

When it comes to revealing and plotting the remarkable features of out cellular Universe, one astronomer has accomplished more than any other and deserves special recognition.

Dr Anthony Fairall (1943-2008), over many years and meticulous hours, mapped the heavens to reveal a three-dimensional maze of Voids, ribbons of galaxies, dense galaxy clusters, linear clusters, walls of galaxies, and most astonishingly, right-angled walls of star systems.

With wedges of Right Ascension and slices of Declination, Anthony Fairall and his colleagues, revealed the cosmic cellular structure.

Sadly, he died in a sea-diving accident (on the coast of South Africa) in 2008.
